Dean's terrific 2019 season saw him named Sportsman of the Year at the Bradford Sports Awards held at Bradford City's Valley Parade stadium on Thursday 12th March.

The competition for the top honour in Dean's hometown was stiff, with GB triathlete, Andrew Dovernor and World Cup winning cricket superstar, Adil Rashid also on the short-list.

Upon being presented with the award Dean said: "I'm a Bradford lad born and bred and so being named Bradford's sportsman of the year is a massive honour. But I like to think this recognition is as much for the sport as it is for me."

"Road racing is one the most exciting and closely contested sports anywhere in the world. It has a great and loyal following, but doesn't get the media profile it deserves. Hopefully this award is a sign that things are changing."
